About the Artist: A folk/indie group originating in Portland, Oregon, Blind Pilot released their debut album "3 Rounds and a Sound" in 2008, and has since released one other full album ("We Are the Tide"-2011). What started out as musical duo has since turned into a group consisting of Israel Nebeker (vocals/guitar), Ryan Dobrowski (drums/percussion), Luke Ydstie (upright bass/bass guitar/backing vocals), Kati Claborn (banjo/mountain dulcimer/ukulele/backing vocals), Dave Jorgensen (trumpet/keyboard), and Ian Krist (vibraphone). With strong folk influences and a unique array of musical instruments lending a hand, Blind Pilot has successfully created a sound that is wholly theirs and theirs alone. Nebeker's voice also helps set the band apart from most others. If you're looking for some great tunes to just sit back and enjoy life to, look no further than Blind Pilot.

Key Songs: "One Red Thread", "Half Moon", "The Story I Heard", "We Are the Tide", "Go On, Say It"

About the Artist: Magic Man consists of 4 pretty awesome dudes (Alex Caplow, Sam Vanderhoop Lee, Joey Sulkowski, and Gabe Goodman) and one really awesome gal (Justine Bowe) who create and perform synthrock/synthpop styles of music. Forming back in 2010, the group consisted only of Caplow and Vanderhoop Lee. Sulkowski, Goodman, and Bowe were all friends of the two in college, and later all came together to form the group as it's known today. Their EP "You Are Here" was released in 2013, and while it only featured a few tunes, it certainly showed off the uniqueness of their musical stylings, which became even more apparent in the songs featured on their first full length album, "Before the Waves", which was just released in July. Their music always seems to get me in a wonderful kind of mood, and if you're feeling like spontaneously bustin' out some moves, or just looking for some amazing music, give these guys (and girl) a listen.

Key Songs: "Paris", "It All Starts Here", "Catherine", "Out of Mind", "Chicagoland"

About the Artist: Hailing from the mystical land of Dublin, Ireland, Kodaline (formerly known as 21 Demands) is a rock band consisting of Steve Garrigan (lead vocals), Mark Prendergast (lead guitar), Vinny May (drums), and Jason Boland (bass guitar). From mellow, down-to-earth tunes such as "All I Want", to more upbeat songs like "Love Like This", Kodaline displays a wide range of musical talent. And while exploring their music you may find a common theme in most of the band's songs: love-or sometimes the lack of it. As Garrigan put it on the band's website, "Break-ups make it really easy to write.". Well those break-ups certainly led to some amazing songs filled with emotional depth and sincerity. It's that same depth and sincerity that makes Kodaline so special. Also, they're from Ireland so that just makes them automatically awesome. Kodaline's first studio album, In A Perfect World, was released in June of 2013, and I have a feeling there are many more albums where that came from.

Key Songs: "One Day", "All I Want", "Pray", "High Hopes", "Love Like This", "Way Back When"

About the artist: Ben Rector is a Nashville-based musician, who released his 6th album, The Walking In Between, in August of 2013. His musical and songwriting influences include James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Randy Newman, Sam Cooke, and Billy Joel. His blend of pop and rock musical styles, along with his unique lyricism come together to form works of art, as far as his albums are concerned. He writes the kind of music that not only makes you think about the lyrics, but also gets relentlessly stuck in your head. Past albums include Something Like This, Into the Morning, Jingles and Bells, Songs that Duke Wrote, and Twenty Tomorrow.

Key Songs(in my opinion, at least): "When I'm With You", "Sailboat", "Wildfire", "Song for the Suburbs", "You and Me", "Way I Am", "Moving Backwards", "And Then You Love Someone", and oh, so many more.
